Their website will take you step-by-step through the symptoms of depression; how to recognise it, how to get help, how to help someone and how to stay well. beyondblue also provides recommendations on where to find additional information and links to other useful organisations.

Depression is not a reason to sack someone. That would infact be illegal and serves no real helpful purpose. Don't shut out someone with depression. Instead seek to help them in the way we all should help each other and that demonstrates the love of Christ.
